|The PHE Harlow science hub proposals are an opportunity to bring together vital public health functions for England on one site and to create a centre of excellence unique in Europe.
PHE Harlow will be a major addition to the life sciences industry located between London and Cambridge. It will create more jobs, develop strong partnerships and build long-term relationships with the Harlow community.
We estimate that PHE Harlow will provide up to 2,750 jobs and with potential expansion this figure could reach 3,200. We also expect approximately 10,000 construction-related jobs to be created for development of the site, a significant proportion of those coming from the local area.
Staff at the campus will include a large number of scientists. We will also require staff in a variety of roles including:
business support and administration
science and engineering
PHE also has an apprenticeship scheme which will be available at the science hub. PHE has started having initial discussions with Harlow College, Sir Charles Kao UTC and Anglia Ruskin University to discuss courses and programmes.
