New website goes live and members learn how they could benefit from 2012

Chamber members attending the October meeting received a primer on how to get the best from the new website and a progress update on the run-up to the 2012 Olympics.

Attendees first heard a presentation from chamber member Denis O'Regan of Easykey who designed the new website.

Denis gave everyone a whistlestop tour around the new Harlow and District Chamber of Commerce site www.harlowchamber.co.uk, showing them how to get the best out of the features available.

Key features include:

  • A public Member's Directory
  • A private Member area including:
    • Forum
    • Member Annnouncments
    • Meeting Notes
    • Members can edit and enhance their own profile
    • Social Bookmarks for events and articles

The evening's presentations were completed by Dominic Collins from Essex County Council Legacy & Strategic Sports Team who updated us on 2012 progress and described the opportunities for local business to be had from the Olympics.

The meetiing held in the convivial surroundings of the Fox Inn (Matching Tye) ended with members enjoying a hearty curry
